Comienza la segunda fase del Campeonato. Tras cuatro semanas de parate veraniego en Europa, vuelve este fin de semana el Mundial de MotoGP con la celebración del GP de Austria.
Los pilotos se reencontrarán este domingo en el circuito Red Bull Ring de Spielberg para el Gran Premio de motociclismo de Austria, décima prueba de la temporada, tras un parate de cuatro semanas de vacaciones.
La mayoría de los pilotos descubrirá este recorrido después de que desapareciera del calendario del Mundial hace 18 años.
El español Marc Márquez, líder indiscutible de la clasificación del Mundial, pudo conocer un circuito atípico, con tan sólo 10 curvas, con motivo de dos días de entrenamientos privados a finales de julio.
"El acercamiento es totalmente diferente sobre un nuevo circuito, puesto que debes adaptarte lo antes posible", indicó Márquez.
"Algunas partes me recuerdan a Austin (Estados Unidos). Debes frenar muy fuerte para ralentizar la moto y volver lo más rápidamente posible. Y, luego, está el último sector muy rápido.
Pienso que se trata de un excelente lugar para la MotoGP. Estoy ansioso por empezar", prosiguió el piloto español, quien cuenta con 48 puntos de ventaja sobre su compatriota Jorge Lorenzo.
Su rival de Yamaha reconoce que "la situación es un poco delicada puesto que Marc tiene una gran ventaja en el campeonato".
"Voy a hacer lo mejor posible como siempre para intentar reducir la diferencia. Lucharemos hasta el final", señaló Lorenzo.
Buenos recuerdos
para Valentino
Tercero del campeonato, 59 puntos por detrás de Márquez, el italiano Valentino Rossi se encuentra en la misma situación que Lorenzo: prohibido cometer errores.
"Las dos grandes rectas no nos ayudan realmente, pero tendremos tiempo para progresar durante el fin de semana", explicó Rossi.
A sus 37 años, el italiano es el único que ha competido en este circuito A1-Ring, rebautizado con el nombre de Red Bull Ring por la compra de la marca de bebidas energizantes.
El nueve veces campeón del mundo consiguió subirse al podio por primera vez en su carrera en este Gran Premio en 1996, en la tercera posición de la categoría de 125 cc.
Al año siguiente, Rossi no logró imponerse al quedarse a cuatro milésimas del japonés Noboru Ueda.
Desde entonces, el circuito ha sufrido varias transformaciones para adaptarse a las normas de la Fórmula 1, con el objetivo de acoger alguna carrera automovilística.
